Inspiration #33

In the last inspiration blog, we looked at butcher block counters, so I thought this week we’d stay in the kitchen and look at the beauty of a well-crafted concrete countertop. Smooth to the touch, durable, and modern – what more could you ask for?

This is the latest in a weekly post of residential architecture inspiration. If you want to see past weeks, you can go here. If you want to see them curated on my pinterest (sometimes before they even hit the blog), go here.

The simple lines of the concrete countertop in the image below are mirrored in the single open shelf in line with the range above. The grey of the counter grounds and separates the white shelves below and above. So simple and clean it makes my heart happy.

Another gorgeous white kitchen with a concrete countertop….all pretty, dressed in white from head to toe. The simplicity of it is so clean and calm that I can only imagine how wonderful it is to make breakfast in this space…even for this night owl.

The concrete countertop at the corner of this kitchen is filled with light and geometric charm. The horizontal lines of the counters, shelves, and range hood all seem to match depth perfectly, making the eye only notice the lines of the beautiful space.

The concrete countertop and overall design of this kitchen has the same style as the image above but is slightly more polished and refined, with the effect of looking slightly more modern. I love the monochrome color in grayscale: the counter, the wall, the dishes in varying shades.

The concrete countertop in this kitchen is so simple it fades into the overall view, which I’m guessing is the intent of the space. No one thing is meant to stand out more than the other.

Last but definitely not least is this gorgeous concrete countertop that dies into a range wall built for a king…or at least a wonderful chef. I may not be a wonderful chef, but I’d gladly take this kitchen.
