I bought this bottle almost a year and a half ago. The quote (below) on the label spoke to me. Invigorated me. Challenged me. At that point I was unlicensed and hadn’t finished a single project for #ThisOldHouse, though I’d started many. I was in a bad job and didn’t know where my future was headed. I hadn’t even started the #AREsketches series yet. So much has happened in this last year and a half that could’ve made me uncork this. My licensure 2wks later? Nah. My first #AREsketches shared image a month later? Meh. Getting a new job with @ratio_design 4 months later? Save it up. A myriad of #ThisOldHouse projects finished? No way Jose. But publishing and selling the first 100 copies of a book that you couldn’t have even dreamed about when you first bought that bottle of wine so many months ago? Abso-freakin-lutely. That is the embodiment of this quote to me. You don’t know the path ahead, but keep stoking that fire inside and share what you can at every bend in the journey to make this place better. Feed the fire until it becomes a light. • “So what is the big picture for you? Why are you here, right now, and what is it you are meant to be doing? What is that one idea you just cannot shake? Do you have the juice to deliver on that idea? If not, why not? What will give you the courage to do so? Go ahead and do a stage left. Live it. The world all awaits your greatness.”
